From a research greenhouse in Michigan to a growing wholesale network — UrbanBloom Co. is redefining what's possible in floral biotechnology.
UrbanBloom Co. was founded in 2020 by a team of agricultural scientists and commercial growers who saw a critical gap in the wholesale flower market — a lack of science-driven suppliers capable of delivering both innovation and volume.
Starting from a 4,000 sq ft research greenhouse in Livonia, Michigan, our founders began with a singular mission: apply modern plant genetics and controlled-environment agriculture to produce flowers that outperform traditional supply in every measurable way.
Within our first two years, we developed 28 proprietary hybrid varieties and established supply agreements with regional distributors across 6 states. By 2023, our annual stem output crossed the 1 million mark — and we have no plans to slow down.
Today, UrbanBloom Co. serves 200+ wholesale buyers across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, with an expanding infrastructure portfolio and a pipeline of next-generation hybrid varieties in development.

Growing flowers at scale carries environmental responsibility. We've built sustainability into every layer of our operation — not as an afterthought, but as a core operating principle.
All irrigation runoff is captured, filtered, and recycled. We've reduced freshwater consumption by 62% since 2021.
Our Livonia facility runs on 78% solar energy, with full renewable transition targeted by 2026.
All export-grade packaging uses certified compostable materials. Zero plastic in our supply chain by 2025.
Hybrid disease-resistance genetics reduce pesticide use by 70%. We're pursuing fully organic certification by 2026.
"To engineer floral excellence through science, scale with ecological responsibility, and build supply relationships that outlast seasons."
